All the servers we use are hosted by professional datacentres, and managed 24x7 by their professional technicians and server administrators. In the event of a web hosting problem with one of the servers or server networks, it may not immediately appear on this page, however the datacentre technicians will usually have already identified the issue, and will be working on resolving it as soon as they can. Please don't be alarmed if there currently appears to be an issue with a server, but it doesn't yet appear on this page, as we operate this page independently from the datacentres. This page will also normally only be updated during normal New Zealand business hours.

If you are experiencing an issue with your Website Hosting or Email, please also check our Troubleshooting Your Website FAQs or our Troubleshooting Your Email FAQs, to make sure that the problem isn't at your end or with your ISP, home/office network, or your computer..

RSS Subscribe Domain Manager and NZ Hosting server updates
Posted on 17/10/20 03:37PM

Our upstream providers Umbrella will be moving all domain names into a new registration and management system. They are being forced to do this with urgency due to performance issues with the current system as a result of it's age, and the underlying software no longer being supported. The new system is built around the Plesk control panel and is very different. It will initially lack some of the functionality of the old system while things are moved and setup. Clients with integrated web and email hosting on this Auckland hosting platform will also be moved by our upstream provider into this system. This will all occur before the end of this month. Please bear with us while these updates occur. We will update this page when we learn more.

RSS Subscribe CPanel server upgrades and backups
Posted on 25/08/20 11:30PM

Our upstream providers of our hosting server have announced that they are in the process of upgrading their fleet of servers both from a hardware standpoint, as well as software.  They are doing this in anticipation of the November 2020 Centos 6 end of life.

Please make sure to also always maintain backups of all of your data stored on the server,  to ensure safe keeping.  Our upstream providers do their best to protect it, but it's always a wise decision to have your own. As per our terms of Service, the client is required to backup the data you store on the hosting servers. This includes data such as your website files and databases and email data. In the event of data loss, clients must be in the position to restore their data from their own backups. CPanel has some built in tools that make backing up easier.  As well as regularly downloading and backing up your data from the hosting server and storing it locally,  there are also some third party services that can do this for you.

Posted on 26/03/20 06:46PM

Due to the  declaration of a State of Emergency in New Zealand over the COVID-19 virus, all New Zealand businesses have had to make some changes. As we are a solely online business, support will largely operate as normal. However we will no longer be able to accept payments by cheque as, traveling to banks to deposit cheques is not considered essential.

Therefore all payments need to be made via Direct Credit / Automatic payment via online banking. Most clients already pay this way anyway. Payment details can be viewed at http://www.web.loungenetwork.co.nz/payment.php . If you have sent us a cheque in the last few weeks and we haven’t received it with the cheque not being cashed, please email us or make the payment via direct credit as per  the instructions in the invoice or at http://www.web.loungenetwork.co.nz/payment.php

We hope all our clients remain safe through this time.

We would also recommend paying by Direct Credit instead of Cheque, as Cheques are on the way out, and they can get lost in the mail or get delayed.

RSS Subscribe Spamcop spam scanning service failure affecting some email accounts
Posted on 01/02/21 11:00AM

Dear Customers,

Please note that due to a Spamcop spam scanning service failure, our upstream providers are experiencing an email sending outage on some of the email accounts. This is a Global issue affecting email providers all over the world that use Spam Cop. It is affecting the New Zealand based hosting network, and as Spamcop is a third party service, it is outside of our upstream providers control. Our upstream providers technical team are monitoring the situation closely and have been assured by their third party provider that it should be corrected soon however there is no ETA on this. This page will be updated.

--UPDATE--

This appears to have now been resolved. Apparently the cause was Cisco / Spamcops domain expiring, and a delay by Cisco in renewing it. Due to this, it resulted in propagation delays across the internet and during this time some emails were bouncing any others weren't . It is still possible that some emails from some email providers may still bounce depending on when they last flushed their DNS cache. This should correct itself over the next few days as DNS caches update themselves across all providers around the world. Cisco and Spamcop are a third party spam filtering service that email providers all over the world use to reduce the amount of spam that email servers get, so this has affected email users and providers all over the world.

--UPDATE--

Please note that this email outage issue is now resolved. Cisco, the upstream provider with the SpamCop email solution acknowledged fault due to a domain expiry. Read more at https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/spamcop-anti-spam-service-suffers-an-outage-after-its-domain-expired/

Thank you.

RSS Subscribe Wellington Earthquakes and Office disruptions
Posted on 14/11/16 01:36PM

As you may already know Wellington and upper parts of the South Island were rocked by a severe earthquake this morning, causing quite a bit of damage. The regions continues to be rocked by severe aftershocks. We hope everyone is safe and ok across NZ.

Our main office has been disrupted by the Wellington earthquakes. As a result of the quakes, we have had periods of no power or internet  access. So this may affect our ability to respond to enquiries during this time. We may have more power outages as aftershocks continue to strike our offices.

Our web hosting services however are not affected in anyway. The servers are housed in professional datacentres in Auckland, Wellington and overseas, and are designed to withstand these types of earthquakes. So please bear with us during this time.
