All the servers we use are hosted by professional datacentres, and managed 24x7 by their professional technicians and server administrators. In the event of a web hosting problem with one of the servers or server networks, it may not immediately appear on this page, however the datacentre technicians will usually have already identified the issue, and will be working on resolving it as soon as they can. Please don't be alarmed if there currently appears to be an issue with a server, but it doesn't yet appear on this page, as we operate this page independently from the datacentres. This page will also normally only be updated during normal New Zealand business hours.

If you are experiencing an issue with your Website Hosting or Email, please also check our Troubleshooting Your Website FAQs or our Troubleshooting Your Email FAQs, to make sure that the problem isn't at your end or with your ISP, home/office network, or your computer..

RSS Subscribe Urgent Maintenance: Parts Replacement on Storage Array on Albany Network
Posted on 16/05/13 10:20PM

Following the outage on Wednesday on the Albany Network, urgent maintenance is being carried out on the affected Storage Array, while the datacentre techs replace certain components marked as faulty between 12am and 6am on 17/05/2013 (overnight tonight). This will allow the network to restore full redundancy.

Impact:
Due to the redundant nature of the networks SAN, our providers do not expect any service unavailability during this time. Volumes currently active on the problematic controller will be failed over to the other controller, to help further mitigate against a possible impact.

As a precaution the datacentre have scheduled it for the early hours of the morning and they will have multiple engineers on standby in case of any unforeseen issues.

UPDATE:

This has been completed successfully, and no abnormal impact was observed on Virtual Servers.

Full redundancy has now been restored.

RSS Subscribe New PHP 5.3 servers to be added
Posted on 07/05/13 01:39PM

There will be a new PHP 5.3 server added to the Auckland server cluster this Wednesday at 9 AM. The new server is a complete rebuild of our PHP 5.3 standard, so we will only send it a small subset of the requests initially to ensure it performs as expected. If you notice any intermittent problems with the PHP 5.3 service on Wednesday please let us know and we'll investigate ASAP.

If the server works as expected we will give it a full workload on Thursday from 9 AM. We will also add additional PHP 5.3 servers using the same new build the same day.

Please note that quote a lot of maintance is planned for the PHP 5.3 network to improve and grow the network, which in the end should result in superior performance. This includes software updates and hardware to be added

RSS Subscribe New Control Panel Environment
Posted on 16/04/13 04:21PM

We have moved our Control Panel for our Premium Unmetered Plans  to a new environment at http://controlpanel.secureserver.co.nz

This has been used extensively in Beta so we do not expect any degradation in service - in fact customers should note better performance and some minor improvements, especially where customers have lots of domain names or resources.

You will notice that http://controlpanel.co.nz now redirects to the new environment. Any customers using direct bookmarks to cp.secureserver.co.nz should update those to ensure you're using the latest system.

If you have any questions please let us know.

RSS Subscribe Spamcop spam scanning service failure affecting some email accounts
Posted on 01/02/21 11:00AM

Dear Customers,

Please note that due to a Spamcop spam scanning service failure, our upstream providers are experiencing an email sending outage on some of the email accounts. This is a Global issue affecting email providers all over the world that use Spam Cop. It is affecting the New Zealand based hosting network, and as Spamcop is a third party service, it is outside of our upstream providers control. Our upstream providers technical team are monitoring the situation closely and have been assured by their third party provider that it should be corrected soon however there is no ETA on this. This page will be updated.

--UPDATE--

This appears to have now been resolved. Apparently the cause was Cisco / Spamcops domain expiring, and a delay by Cisco in renewing it. Due to this, it resulted in propagation delays across the internet and during this time some emails were bouncing any others weren't . It is still possible that some emails from some email providers may still bounce depending on when they last flushed their DNS cache. This should correct itself over the next few days as DNS caches update themselves across all providers around the world. Cisco and Spamcop are a third party spam filtering service that email providers all over the world use to reduce the amount of spam that email servers get, so this has affected email users and providers all over the world.

--UPDATE--

Please note that this email outage issue is now resolved. Cisco, the upstream provider with the SpamCop email solution acknowledged fault due to a domain expiry. Read more at https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/spamcop-anti-spam-service-suffers-an-outage-after-its-domain-expired/

Thank you.

RSS Subscribe Wellington Earthquakes and Office disruptions
Posted on 14/11/16 01:36PM

As you may already know Wellington and upper parts of the South Island were rocked by a severe earthquake this morning, causing quite a bit of damage. The regions continues to be rocked by severe aftershocks. We hope everyone is safe and ok across NZ.

Our main office has been disrupted by the Wellington earthquakes. As a result of the quakes, we have had periods of no power or internet  access. So this may affect our ability to respond to enquiries during this time. We may have more power outages as aftershocks continue to strike our offices.

Our web hosting services however are not affected in anyway. The servers are housed in professional datacentres in Auckland, Wellington and overseas, and are designed to withstand these types of earthquakes. So please bear with us during this time.
