All the servers we use are hosted by professional datacentres, and managed 24x7 by their professional technicians and server administrators. In the event of a web hosting problem with one of the servers or server networks, it may not immediately appear on this page, however the datacentre technicians will usually have already identified the issue, and will be working on resolving it as soon as they can. Please don't be alarmed if there currently appears to be an issue with a server, but it doesn't yet appear on this page, as we operate this page independently from the datacentres. This page will also normally only be updated during normal New Zealand business hours.

If you are experiencing an issue with your Website Hosting or Email, please also check our Troubleshooting Your Website FAQs or our Troubleshooting Your Email FAQs, to make sure that the problem isn't at your end or with your ISP, home/office network, or your computer..

RSS Subscribe Renew your Domain Names before they expire...
Posted on 20/03/12 06:02PM

We would just like to remind clients to always renew and pay for their domain names well before their scheduled expiry date.

Failure to make payment before the scheduled expiry date, will result in the domain name being canceled automatically by the Domain Registry. There is then usually a uncancellation fee to uncancel and renew the domain again. There will also be downtime, which could extend from a few hours, up to several days, depending on when we receive payment. Cancelled domain names will also take several hours to fully reconnect back up to your website and email.

Domains can be fully managed and renewed through our automated Domain Manager at www.domains.loungenetwork.co.nz . You can also find out the expiry date by just clicking on the 'Renew' button, and entering in your domain name.

You don't need to wait to receive an emailed domain renewal reminder, it can be renewed at any time, and up to 10 years in advance. Also some search engines may rank your website better, if the domain name is registered for longer.

So what are you waiting for...renew your domain today by clicking here.

RSS Subscribe Urgent software update for Linux shared hosting storage on Albany Network
Posted on 29/02/12 04:05PM

The server techs plan to apply the latest software update to the primary storage device for Linux shared hosting during the following maintenance window:

Tomorrow morning 01/03/2012 12AM to 2AM

We anticipate approximately 5 minutes of downtime for the storage device, during which time shared hosting Linux sites will not be available. Additional recovery time for the web servers of approximately 10 minutes is likely required until normal service resumes.

We apologise for the short-notice for this update.

RSS Subscribe Scheduled Maintenance: WIN.SECURESERVER.CO.NZ Migration
Posted on 13/02/12 07:02PM

Impacted System: WIN.SECURESERVER.CO.NZ / WIN.MYDNS.NET.NZ
Start Time: 08/03/2012 00:00 NZDT
End Time: 08/03/2012 04:00 NZDT

During this maintenance window, we will be migrating all customer websites to a replacement server on new hardware. This will improve the scalability & performance of the service we provide to our customers.
Impact

Websites on win.secureserver.co.nz will be unavailable during this maintenance window.

No data will be lost. All websites will be backed up and transferred to the replacement server. IP addresses will also be transferred to this new server so no customer website reconfiguration will be required.

Additional Information

You can determine which IIS server your website is hosted on from the control panel by checking the Secure Server option which is displayed when editing your ASP/.Net site in the websites settings.

Testing

Website content is being synchronised nightly to the replacement server already. We recommend you test your site (http only) in advance of the migration by modifying your hosts file (please see the knowledge base article below) with an entry for your website domain name using the IP address below. If you notice any issues then please contact us. This IP is to be used for testing only. Under no circumstances should you reconfigure DNS to direct your website to this address.

119.47.114.169

Please note that only content located in the website root will be synchronised. Files located directly in the ftp root and not in a website path will not be synchronised. If you have a valid reason for requiring files to be located in the ftp root then you must contact us in advance of this migration and we will ensure that the files are included in the synchronisation.

What is a hosts file? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_%28file%29

How to edit my hosts file?

To preview a website on another server you will need to add the following line to the hosts file on your computer (replace yourdomain.co.nz with your domain name):

119.47.114.165 www.yourdomain.co.nz yourdomain.co.nz

This is accomplished in Windows by adding the line to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts. If you are running Windows Vista or later you will
need to ensure you run notepad as administrator. In Linux and Mac OS X the file is /etc/hosts.

You can now test the website by browsing to www.yourdomain.co.nz with your browser. Please note that you might have to re-start your browser first to make it realize that the IP has changed.

Once your testing is completed, you can revert those changes back (by removing the entries of the hosts file).

RSS Subscribe Christmas Message 2011
Posted on 18/12/11 08:21PM

As 2011 draws to a close, we would like to wish all our clients a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We also thank you all for your continued support of our services.

2011 has been a milestone year for us, as we celebrated our 10th year in business. We proud to now be one of New Zealands longest serving web hosting providers, providing some of the best quality and most reliable hosting services in NZ

2011 has been a very tough year for many New Zealanders. Again we had had another major earthquake in Christchurch, but this time with the loss of many lives. As well as this, we have had a continued recession, which has had a major affect on many people and businesses in New Zealand. Here's hoping that 2012 will only be filled with good news.

During the Christmas break, our main office will be closed between 23rd December till the 10th January, and there will be limited email support during this time. However, as usual the server technicians at the datacentres will continue to look after the servers 24/7 365 days of the year, and will fix any issues should they occur. We do also have an emergency support form on our website, which can be accessed from the contact page (fees do apply for emergency after hours support not related to server/network outages).

Service Upgrades on our NO LIMITS web hosting plans

Here are the latest services upgrades we have completed in the past couple of months:

  • Our PHP5.3 cluster is online! Perfect for hosting applications such as Joomla and Wordpress.
  • MS SQL 2008 is now available as a database option, replacing 2K.
  • The latest control panel release was pushed out a couple of weeks ago fixing a large number of bugs and adding some nice features.

That's it for this year. I hope you all have a merry Christmas and happy New Year.

RSS Subscribe Network issue at CPanel hosting datacentre.
Posted on 04/08/17 10:55AM

One of the Datacentres ISPs had a router go down at approximately 10:38am, which meant traffic was automatically rerouted, but caused very high traffic loads. When they notice this issue, they shut them down and it took 180 seconds for routes to re-converge to our other carriers, and it should have been fully resolved by 10:42am. This resulted in less than 5 minutes of network downtime, before it was fully resolved. We apologise for any inconvenience

RSS Subscribe Wellington Earthquakes and Office disruptions
Posted on 14/11/16 01:36PM

As you may already know Wellington and upper parts of the South Island were rocked by a severe earthquake this morning, causing quite a bit of damage. The regions continues to be rocked by severe aftershocks. We hope everyone is safe and ok across NZ.

Our main office has been disrupted by the Wellington earthquakes. As a result of the quakes, we have had periods of no power or internet  access. So this may affect our ability to respond to enquiries during this time. We may have more power outages as aftershocks continue to strike our offices.

Our web hosting services however are not affected in anyway. The servers are housed in professional datacentres in Auckland, Wellington and overseas, and are designed to withstand these types of earthquakes. So please bear with us during this time.

RSS Subscribe Auckland Wide Intermittent Network Issue - Resolved
Posted on 05/08/16 01:41PM

We are aware that there are currently intermittent network issues in the Auckland region affecting all providers. This is affecting some customers from accessing systems on the Lounge Networks, and the wider internet. Our network engineers are monitoring this issue and working with upstream providers where appropriate to minimise the impact on our customers.

Update: Our upstream has confirmed that this issue is now resolved.
