This page keeps our clients up to date with what is happening on our hosting network. All of our clients should regularly check this page for any announcements we make. Our 'Latest News' is displayed in the left hand column below. 'Unscheduled Maintenance' on the server network, is displayed in the right hand column below. Clients can also subscribe to our free RSS newsfeed services below, which will automatically deliver you our announcements via your newsfeed reader software (eg Outlook), via Live Bookmarks in your web browser, or via your mobile phone (via an RSS news reader). All the servers we use are hosted by professional datacentres, and managed 24x7 by their professional technicians and server administrators. In the event of a web hosting problem with one of the servers or server networks, it may not immediately appear on this page, however the datacentre technicians will usually have already identified the issue, and will be working on resolving it as soon as they can. Please don't be alarmed if there currently appears to be an issue with a server, but it doesn't yet appear on this page, as we operate this page independently from the datacentres. This page will also normally only be updated during normal New Zealand business hours.

RSS Subscribe Mail delivery delay on Albany Network due to spam.

This announcement only affects our Corporate and Business class hosting clients.

There is currently a delay in mail delivery on the shared cluster due to a large amount of Spam.

Our providers are working on clearing the queue so all mail should be delivered early this evening.



RSS Subscribe Orcon rolling outages

One of our hosting upstream providers has been having intermittent issues this morning affecting a few of our clients websites and email. Orcon have told us that this has been caused by a compromised website that was affecting all other websites on the servers. Websites are all up and running but we will be continuing to monitor Orcon.



RSS Subscribe Temporary issue with our email address

Due to a denial of service attack on our own email server, we may not have received emails you sent us between 2pm and 3.30pm today ( Wednesday 19th January 2011). These emails may have bounced back to the sender. Please resend us your email if you sent us an email between these times.



RSS Subscribe Telecom / Xtra ISP users, and sending email issues.

We have had several clients (those that use CPanel), who have had trouble recently sending emails through their email client software (eg MS Outlook). All these clients appear to be using our servers SMTP server for sending their emails, instead of their ISPs outgoing mail server. All these clients appear to use Telecom / Xtra as their ISP. It appears telecom have made recent changes on their network, that maybe causing this problem. We do know that they can block port 25, which is the normal outgoing mailserver port, therefore all CPanel clients should be using port 26 or port 8025 in their outgoing mailserver settings.

If you are a telecom user, please send your emails via telecoms / xtras SMTP server, and that will fix the problem.

All Telecom / Xtra cusomters also must authenticate their domain based email address with Telecom Xtra if you haven't already done so. Instructions for doing this can be found at http://tinyurl.com/yahooxtrasmtp
If you have any problems sending email via Telecom Xtras SMTP server please contact Telecom Xtra at 0800 110 050, and they will be able to help you set up the above settings for your domain based email address.

Due to more and more ISPs blocking outside SMTP outgoing mailservers for antispam reasons, we don't provide any support for our SMTP servers, and you use them at your own risk. We recommend that you use your ISPs SMTP settings for sending all your email.

RSS Subscribe Unscheduled Server Maintenance:

RSS Subscribe Network issue at CPanel hosting datacentre.

One of the Datacentres ISPs had a router go down at approximately 10:38am, which meant traffic was automatically rerouted, but caused very high traffic loads. When they notice this issue, they shut them down and it took 180 seconds for routes to re-converge to our other carriers, and it should have been fully resolved by 10:42am. This resulted in less than 5 minutes of network downtime, before it was fully resolved. We apologise for any inconvenience





RSS Subscribe Wellington Earthquakes and Office disruptions

As you may already know Wellington and upper parts of the South Island were rocked by a severe earthquake this morning, causing quite a bit of damage. The regions continues to be rocked by severe aftershocks. We hope everyone is safe and ok across NZ.

Our main office has been disrupted by the Wellington earthquakes. As a result of the quakes, we have had periods of no power or internet  access. So this may affect our ability to respond to enquiries during this time. We may have more power outages as aftershocks continue to strike our offices. 

Our web hosting services however are not affected in anyway. The servers are housed in professional datacentres in Auckland, Wellington and overseas, and are designed to withstand these types of earthquakes. So please bear with us during this time.






RSS Subscribe Auckland Wide Intermittent Network Issue - Resolved

We are aware that there are currently intermittent network issues in the Auckland region affecting all providers. This is affecting some customers from accessing systems on the Lounge Networks, and the wider internet. Our network engineers are monitoring this issue and working with upstream providers where appropriate to minimise the impact on our customers.

Update: Our upstream has confirmed that this issue is now resolved.
